Job Title: Utility Worker
Job Description
The Utility Worker will be responsible for preparing products for daytime operations, monitoring the sifting and filling of storage tanks in the Bagging Department, and assisting the Furnace Operator with tasks in the Grinding Department. Additionally, this role requires maintaining daily plant housekeeping, including using a dust particulate respirator during air wand blowdown of the plant site.
Responsibilities
Prepare product for dayshift use and monitor sifting and filling of Bagging Department storage tanks.
Assist Furnace Operator with tasks in the Grinding Department.
Maintain daily plant housekeeping and conduct air wand blowdown using dust particulate respirator.
Perform glass pile dressing and load cullet into plant shredder system.
Remove contamination in glass pile to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues, reporting significant issues to management or lead operator.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor and coordinate bulk dust operations.
Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment.
Monitor dryer operations and gas rates to ensure efficient process operation.
Essential Skills
Forklift operation
General labor skills
Knowledge of raw material processing flow
Ability to troubleshoot problems as they occur
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be medically certifiable to wear a respirator
Must wear steel-toe shoes, hardhat, hearing protection, long pants, Hi-Viz long sleeve shirts or jacket, gloves
Prescription Safety Glasses or protective glasses required if wearing contact lenses

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CANBY, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.11 - $25.61/hr.
