Job Description

This role involves performing high-quality welding tasks in a metal manufacturing facility to produce durable, reliable products. You will read and interpret measurements, apply basic math for accurate fabrication, and work closely with a diverse team to meet production goals while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The position offers structured on-the-job training to help you develop your welding skills and adapt to established processes in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding on steel products to produce durable and reliable structures.

  • Use MIG, TIG, and flux-core welding techniques as required by specific jobs and materials.

  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans to complete projects accurately.

  • Measure materials using a standard tape measure and apply basic math calculations to ensure precise cuts and fits.

  • Grind and finish welded components to meet structural and aesthetic requirements.

  • Work with mechanical systems, tools, and equipment to support fabrication and assembly processes.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain consistent quality standards.

  • Participate in on-the-job training to enhance welding and fabrication skills and to learn company-specific processes.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area in a metal manufacturing environment.

  • Adapt to working in a non-climate-controlled facility with moderate to loud noise levels.

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to welding, grinding, and handling materials.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in welding with the ability to pass a welding test.

  • Experience with MIG welding on steel products.

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication documents.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work confidently with mechanical systems and tools.

  • Ability to accurately read a standard tape measure and perform basic math calculations.

  • Ability to read and write effectively to follow written instructions and document work.

  • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment with moderate to loud noise levels.

  • Capability to perform grinding and structural fabrication tasks as part of the welding process.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience with aluminum welding is preferred.

  • Completion of welding classes or formal welding training is preferred.

  • Previous experience in a metal manufacturing or fabrication environment is an advantage.

  • Experience with TIG and flux-core welding processes is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with structural fabrication, including layout and assembly, is helpful.

This position is based in a metal manufacturing facility that is practical, clean, and designed to support the production of high-quality products. The environment is non-temperature-controlled, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and around moderate to loud noise levels. Multiple shift options are available, including 1st Shift (6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday), 2nd Shift (3:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday), Weekend Shift (6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Friday–Sunday), and an Early Bird Shift (3:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). Dress expectations align with a hands-on manufacturing role, prioritizing safety and practicality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
