Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist who will be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC machines, adhering to both inch and metric drawing specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, responsibility, and accountability, while contributing to the achievement of common objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to machine flat and formed parts according to inch and metric drawing specifications.

  • Act as a technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities.

  • Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes.

  • Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, material shortages, or errors.

  • Focus continuously on the reduction of material, labor, and scrap.

  • Perform minor maintenance activities as required by the preventive maintenance program.

  • Engage in continued education and training, including ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, and teamwork.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area.

  • Record labor for job tracking.

  • Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Take lead on large projects from start to finish.

  • Interact with engineering on part designs.

  • Provide advice on corrective actions that need to be taken.

  • Document red lines and monitor line side inventory.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to set up and operate CNC machines effectively.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and making edits to CNC machines.

  • Experience with machine operating and operation.

  • Capability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills for effective two-way communication.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
