Job Description
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in managing the physical tasks involved in receiving, staging, returning, shipping, storage, destruction, and inventory management of products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This position involves unpacking and checking materials received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received materials, and rejecting unsatisfactory items according to procedural requirements. Additionally, the role includes picking and staging materials for production work orders and packing materials for shipments, performing cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of materials, while adhering to good documentation practices.
Responsibilities
Perform physical tasks related to receiving, staging, returning, shipping, storage, destruction, and inventory management.
Unpack and check materials received against purchase orders or invoices.
Maintain records of received materials and reject unsatisfactory items as per procedural requirements.
Pick and stage materials for production work orders and pack materials for shipment.
Conduct cycle counts, item verification, consolidation, and transfer of materials.
Adhere to good documentation practices defined by PCI.
Essential Skills
Experience in shipping and receiving.
Competency with pallet jack operation.
Proficiency in inventory control and management.
Ability to work independently and self-start.
Experience with ERP systems.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Smart Sheets.
Capability to work in cold room environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Forklift operation experience.
RF scanner usage.
Packaging and loading expertise.
Experience with stock management.
Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs independently.

Work Environment
The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with sporadic overtime related to shipping activities. Overtime is voluntary, typically lasting up to an hour during the week and occasionally on Saturdays. The environment includes working in cold rooms at -20 degrees, managing large room refrigerators, and shipments from coolers. Employees will need to handle cold environments with appropriate attire, and minimum lifting requirements are 20 lbs, with a maximum of 40 lbs independently.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
