Machine Operator & General Laborer
Industrial Manufacturing | Full‑Time
We’re looking for reliable, hands‑on individuals to operate and support a bagging line in a busy industrial manufacturing environment. This role combines machine operation , quality checks , and general labor , including heavy lifting and housekeeping around production lines. If you have strong mechanical aptitude, enjoy physical work, and want to build valuable industrial skills, this is a great fit.
⭐ What You’ll Do
Operate bagging line equipment safely and efficiently for ~10 hours per day
Perform quality checks to ensure products and packaging meet standards
Work on either the front bagging end or wrapper end depending on production needs
Handle heavy lifting (65 lbs or more) and move materials as needed
Support general production tasks and assist team members across the site
Maintain a clean, organized work area , including housekeeping under and around lines
Follow all safety rules, procedures, and company policies
Participate in training to earn forklift certification and operate equipment safely
Identify and report basic mechanical issues and assist with troubleshooting
🛠️ Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation
Ability to lift 65+ lbs regularly
Comfortable standing and walking for 8–10 hours
Commitment to safety and following procedures
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work well with others in a fast‑paced environment
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in an industrial setting
Basic troubleshooting ability for production equipment
➕ Helpful Experience (Not Required)
Prior work as a general laborer , machine operator , or production worker
Exposure to bagging lines , packaging , or manufacturing environments
Interest in learning forklift operation and earning on‑the‑job certification
Experience handling bagged materials or operating packaging equipment

🏭 Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing facility with indoor and outdoor work areas
Typical schedule: Day shift , starting around 6:00 a.m. and ending around 4:30 p.m. (may vary with production needs)
Physically demanding environment with heavy lifting and continuous movement
Work around bagging, packaging, and other production machinery
Strong emphasis on safety and housekeeping to keep work areas clean and organized

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
