Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist
Job Description
This role supports a large data center construction project by leading and coordinating health and safety efforts on site. The Health and Safety Specialist works closely with the on-site team and safety leadership to ensure full compliance with all safety policies, regulatory requirements, and general contractor expectations while promoting a strong safety culture across the project.
Responsibilities
Monitor daily field activities on an industrial construction job site to ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
Collaborate closely with the on-site team and safety leadership to implement and enforce safety standards on a large data center project.
Interpret and apply OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards to project operations.
Conduct regular site observations and participate in safety walks to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Support incident prevention by proactively identifying risks and communicating safety expectations to project personnel.
Assist in coordinating safety-related communications and documentation in line with company and general contractor requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture by setting a visible example and encouraging safe work practices at all times.
Ensure adherence to project-specific safety requirements and support efforts to keep the project on schedule while maintaining safe operations.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety (H&S), preferably on industrial job sites.
Current OSHA 30-hour certification obtained within the last 2 years.
At least one of the following certifications: CHST, ASP, or CSP.
Demonstrated experience working on industrial construction job sites.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with on-site teams and safety leadership.
Clear and confident communication skills for interacting with field personnel and project stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience supporting large-scale projects such as data centers or similar industrial facilities.
Proven ability to identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
Strong organizational skills to manage safety documentation and reporting.
Ability to adapt to changing site conditions, including schedule shifts and weather-related delays.

Work Environment
This is a 1-year contract assignment on a large data center construction project located in Lima, OH. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime on Saturdays as needed to maintain the project schedule or address weather-related delays. The position is fully site-based on an industrial job site, requiring regular presence in active construction areas and close coordination with the general contractor and on-site teams.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
