Job Description
This role focuses on installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and related components in a variety of commercial properties, including restaurants and other high-traffic facilities. You will work closely with other trades and team members to ensure all plumbing work complies with building codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications. By providing high-quality service, you will help ensure that water supply networks, waste and drainage systems, and associated equipment operate reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems and components in restaurants and other commercial facilities.
Identify required tools, materials, and specialized equipment for each job and prepare accordingly.
Locate and mark positions for pipes, fixtures, and equipment using appropriate technology and methods.
Install supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures, and equipment to ensure proper alignment and stability.
Assemble and install valves, fittings, and related components for water and waste systems.
Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and control systems.
Install, repair, and maintain sinks, tubs, toilets, and other commercial plumbing fixtures.
Install, repair, and maintain water heaters, water conditioners, and associated piping.
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances, trim, and related hardware.
Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks and performance, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.
Apply all relevant building codes, installation requirements, and legislation to every installation, repair, and maintenance task.
Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, graded, and compliant with applicable codes.
Ensure all plumbing work meets environmental protection requirements and best practices.
Troubleshoot and identify mystery leaks, backups, clogs, and other plumbing issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
Perform expert jetting services using both low- and high-pressure equipment.
Operate drain camera equipment to locate pipes, clogs, breaks, and other issues within the plumbing system.
Service and maintain grease traps, floor sinks, and floor drains commonly found in restaurant environments.
Perform water heater replacements, backflow installations, and related service work.
Use snaking, jetting, cameras/scopes, and other diagnostic tools to clear and inspect lines.
Work with P-traps, faucets, PVC piping, and other common plumbing materials and fixtures.
Follow verbal and written instructions accurately and document work performed as required.
Use basic hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work environment in the shop, company vehicle, and on job sites.
Pick up and deliver supplies and materials as needed, using the company vehicle and approved purchasing accounts.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and office staff, including using required check-in and check-out procedures for each client.
Collaborate with the Project Administrator/Service Coordinator regarding scope changes and rate adjustments when necessary.
Work cooperatively with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Use computer systems and smartphone apps for work orders, timekeeping, communication, and documentation.
Manage time effectively to handle scheduled work, emergency calls, and on-call responsibilities.
Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to emergency service calls at night, on weekends, and on holidays during assigned weeks.
Coordinate coverage with other technicians when time off is needed during an assigned on-call rotation.
Travel to other locations, such as out-of-town training sites, as required (for example, initial training in another city).
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of commercial plumbing experience.
Strong commercial plumbing skills, including replacing faucets, unclogging toilets, and servicing sinks, tubs, and toilets.
Hands-on experience with grease traps, floor sinks, and floor drains in commercial or restaurant environments.
Ability to snake lines, perform jetting, and use cameras or scopes for inspection and diagnostics.
Experience working with P-traps, faucets, PVC piping, and related plumbing materials.
Proficiency in water heater replacements and service.
Experience performing backflow installations.
Ability to locate pipes, clogs, and breaks using appropriate tools and technology.
Expert-level jetting skills with both low- and high-pressure equipment.
Expertise in operating drain camera equipment for inspection and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures.
Ability to interpret and follow building codes, installation requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
Basic tool proficiency, including safe use of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills to identify leaks, backups, and other plumbing issues.
Ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately.
Safe driving record and ability to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to pick up and deliver supplies and materials as part of daily work.

Work Environment
This position operates in a field-based commercial service environment, primarily supporting restaurants and other commercial facilities. You will receive company-provided work uniforms, a cell phone, a gas card, and access to a company purchasing account for materials and supplies. A company vehicle is provided for use during work and for travel to and from job sites, and you may take the vehicle home. The typical schedule is approximately 40 hours per week, starting around 8:00 a.m., with start times that can be earlier or later depending on client needs and the type of work being performed. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation, generally one week at a time, covering nights, weekends, and holidays for emergency service calls; the rotation schedule is provided in advance, and technicians are responsible for arranging coverage if they need time off during their on-call week. Work may occasionally require short-term travel, such as spending weekdays in another city for initial training. The work involves hands-on tasks in mechanical rooms, back-of-house restaurant areas, and other commercial settings, requiring attention to safety, cleanliness, and organization at all times.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr.
