Job Description
The Low Voltage Technician installs and services low voltage and fiber optic cabling in an industrial and commercial environment. This role focuses on running cable between testing equipment, reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics, and using hand and power tools to complete high‑quality installations. The technician troubleshoots cabling and panel wiring issues, supports network and computer wiring needs, and ensures all work meets safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities
Install low voltage and fiber optic cables in industrial and commercial facilities.
Run computer and network cabling between testing equipment and other devices throughout the facility.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to pull, route, terminate, and secure cabling.
Perform panel wiring and connect low voltage cabling to appropriate equipment and terminations.
Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, and low voltage issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Work with testing equipment to verify cable performance and system functionality.
Install and support network cabling and computer wiring as needed for projects.
Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in industrial and commercial environments.
Collaborate with project teams to complete assignments on schedule and prepare for deployment to subsequent projects based on performance.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 4 years of low voltage cabling experience.
Proven experience installing low voltage and fiber optic cabling.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
Hands-on experience with cable installation in industrial or commercial settings.
Proficiency using hand and power tools for cabling and panel wiring tasks.
Experience with troubleshooting low voltage systems, panel wiring, and cabling issues.
Knowledge of network cabling and general electrical concepts related to low voltage systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience installing fiber optic cables in commercial or industrial environments.
Commercial electrical experience, which can expand opportunities for future projects.
Experience working with electrical testing equipment.
Experience working with computer wiring and network infrastructure.
Interest in participating in apprenticeship or training programs to further develop skills.

Work Environment
Work takes place primarily on project-based job sites in the Nashville, Tennessee area, starting with an industrial facility project focused on running computer and low voltage cabling between testing equipment. The role involves working with low voltage systems, fiber optic cabling, network cabling, and computer wiring in an active facility environment. Typical shifts run either from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The initial project is expected to last at least three months, with strong performers transitioning to additional projects in the area. Technicians regularly use hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment, and work in settings that require attention to safety and coordination with other trades and project personnel. When job sites are located more than 60 miles from the office or primary location, per diem is provided to support travel-related expense

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
