We are looking for a talented Senior MES Engineer (Pharma) to support and enhance Manufacturing Execution Systems used in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
We are a global life sciences manufacturing organization focused on modernizing and expanding paperless manufacturing operations through enterprise MES platforms.
Role Basics
Work Location: Hybrid onsite in Durham, NC (4 days per week)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Rate Range: $60–$70/hr W2
This role is NOT eligible for visa sponsorship or C2C
Job Duties:
Support and maintain PMX or Plex or FactoryTalk PharmaSuite MES systems in GMP manufacturing operations
Troubleshoot MES issues and act as a Tier 2 escalation point for production support
Assist with MES deployments, upgrades, and functional enhancements across manufacturing sites
Develop, configure, and support Electronic Batch Records (EBRs) and Master Batch Records (MBRs)
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and quality teams to deliver compliant MES solutions
Maintain validation documentation throughout the system lifecycle (CSV)
Contribute to MES standardization and site‑to‑site replication initiatives
Ideal Background:
5+ years of experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Experience with Recipe Authoring for PFS (prefilled syringe) or similar Parenteral pharmaceuticals
Hands-on experience with PMX or Plex or FactoryTalk PharmaSuite in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (or other MES platforms such as: Siemens Opcenter, SAP Digital Manufacturing, NoMuda VisualFactory, Infor MES, Tulip Platform, iBase-t Solumina MES, Oracle Cloud Manufacturing, Dassault Systems DELMIA Apriso, DELMIAWORKS, HYDRA X, GE Vernova Proficy Smart Factory, L2L (Leading2Lean), Werum PAS-X MES Suite by Korber Pharma, iTAC.MOM.Suite by iTAC Software, ProManage, TrakSYS by Parsec, 42Q, AVEVA Manufacturing Execution System, Trackwise by Honeywell, Honeywell Forge Operations Management, PINpoint MES, Emerson Syncade,MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence, Aegis Software FactoryLogix, Epicor Advanced MES, Sepasoft MES, ABB Ability Manufacturing Operations Management Suite, Tempo Manufacturing Cloud, Aptean Process Manufacturing OEE, Accevo MES, DeltaV Manufacturing Execution System by Emerson, AspenONE MES, Nexplant MESplus, Cantier MES, or Vimachem Pharma MES)
Familiarity with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11
Working knowledge of GMP, CSV, and regulated systems
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
