Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aptitude. The ideal candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot, test, and rebuild engines, as well as electrical and mechanical equipment. Proficiency in blueprint reading, welding, and knowledge of equipment instrumentation and gauges are essential.
Responsibilities
Perform unit failure analysis.
Order required parts for repair work, unit testing, and unit painting.
Assist power products personnel in unit build-up, assembly, and disassembly.
Deliver, install, and repair equipment.
Develop parts lists for customer orders.
Occasionally order parts.
Occasionally assist with inside sales.
Perform welding tasks.
Troubleshoot and install electrical controls and components.
Perform mechanical fabrication.
General all-around shop maintenance.
Essential Skills
Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and rebuilding engines and equipment.
Ability to read blueprints.
Welding skills.
Knowledge of equipment instrumentation and gauges.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge of safety and housekeeping rules and policies.
Ability to translate technical mechanical documents.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening, and phone).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Decision-making skills for selecting appropriate service needs and applications.
Negotiation skills for service requirements.
Behavioral flexibility in dealing with customers and internal support staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3 years of mechanical repair experience.
2 to 3 years of experience in servicing customers.
