Hybrid Role: In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Work from home on Thursday and Friday.

Job Profile Summary:

The Senior Retirement Analyst will play a key role in supporting the administration and compliance of the Sysco 401 (K) & The Sysco Retirement Plan. In this role, the Senior Retirement Analyst will ensure data accuracy between Workday / Vendors systems, plan compliance, internal & external audits and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to working across HR, Payroll, HRIS, and vendor teams. This role will play a key part in ensuring our retirement programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company’s overall Total Rewards strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

System & Data Management

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead analyst for retirement plans, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Oversee day-to-day retirement plan administration such as resolving employee & vendor questions and issues that arise.

  • Partner with HRIS to ensure successful inbound & outbound data integration between vendors and Workday.

  • Collaborate with internal/ external teams to in multifaceted projects.

  • Conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure employee 401 (K) elections and Loan deductions are accurate and aligned.

  • Monthly review of Pension & 401 (K) data.

Retirement Administration

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on retirement plans and integrations.

  • Assist with system configurations, testing, and validation processes.

  • Troubleshoot employee and vendor issues.

  • Collaborate with vendors to implement data feeds changes, resolve discrepancies, and enhance employee experience.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead annual retirement plan audits, actuarial valuations, and non-discrimination testing.

  • Ability to understand complex reporting, create ad hoc reports quickly and present to teams.

  • Support compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL and other regulatory requirements through data accuracy and documentation.

  • Assist with audits, filings, and year-end processes including W2 reporting, AFN, PBGC and Form 5500 preparation.

  • General understanding of how to interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting retirement plans and recommend necessary changes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Payroll, HRIS, and Total Rewards teams to ensure aligned processes and seamless handoffs.

  • Participate in system upgrades, new vendor implementations, and benefits-related projects.

  • Provide training and documentation for HR team members and employees as needed.

  • Support M&A activities including plan integrations, due diligence, and transition planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in retirement plan administration or benefits management.

  • Experience with Annual Audits for Defined Contribution & Defined Benefit Plans, and in-depth knowledge of DC and DB plans.

  • Experience with benefits platforms (e.g., Fidelity PSW, Benefit Connect, Bswift, Workday, Northern Trust) and file feed integrations.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to make critical decisions independently with minimum oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration or benefits management.

  • Experience in retirement benefits administration in both US and Canada.

  • Experience with system testing, implementation, or configuration of benefits platforms.

  • Experience working in a large, complex organization and union populations.

  • Ability to explain complex retirement concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to quickly respond to critical projects/ request.
