Primary Purpose
The Director, Workforce Planning is responsible for designing and implementing scalable labor planning strategies to ensure that front-line operations teams are staffed appropriately to meet customer demand and business goals. This role oversees the development and execution of workforce forecasting, capacity modeling, and resource deployment strategies across a national operations network. It ensures alignment between labor supply and service demand while supporting process improvement, data accuracy, and field execution. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, HR, Finance, IT, and other departments, this role ensures that workforce strategies are embedded into broader business plans and that tools and systems are effectively supporting execution in the field.
Essential Functions
Labor Forecasting & Modeling: Build predictive models to anticipate workforce needs based on demand trends, geography, seasonality, and service levels.
Capacity Planning: Create scalable frameworks to assess labor availability and operational capacity across various markets and business conditions.
Workforce Standards & Optimization: Define benchmarks for front-line roles and develop tools to support effective team sizing, crew deployment, and labor efficiency.
Scheduling & Coverage Alignment: Collaborate with internal partners to ensure labor plans support routing, territory coverage, and daily workload balancing.
System & Tool Integration: Lead improvements to labor planning systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and consistent reporting for field leadership.
Performance Monitoring: Track labor forecast accuracy, utilization rates, and organizational operations metrics.
Stakeholder Communication: Translate workforce data into actionable insights for field and executive leaders, facilitating collaboration and alignment.
Cross-Functional Integration: Serve as the workforce strategy bridge across Operations, Sales, HR, Finance, and Strategy teams to align labor planning with business goals.
Change Management & Adoption Enablement: Partner with field and functional leaders to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new labor planning processes, standards, and tools.
Support for Business Initiatives: Analyze workforce implications of business changes—such as market expansion, service line additions, or organizational shifts—and develop responsive labor strategies.
Travel Requirement: This role requires up to 40% travel to field locations and regional meetings to support workforce alignment and operational execution.

$128,800.00 – $193,200.00 / year
