Summary of Position
The Analyst - OS&D position is responsible for all activities associated with claims for Overages, Shortages and Damages (OS&D) on Family Dollar shipments. This individual will work with merchandising, vendors, logistics service providers, insurance carriers and internal cross functional teams to process claims and provide feedback to help mitigate further loss. This position requires very strong skills including communication, organization, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities -
The primary tasks the associate will perform during his/her work schedule
First line of contact for the submission and resolution of logistics & product claims; answer questions for internal customers and logistics providers regarding claims issues
Investigate, negotiate, and process claims in accordance with policies and procedures within industry standards. Ability to root cause and promote continuous improvement
Notify involved parties of claim filings and/or rejected claims and work with the claimant to understand the value of damaged products and how the product should be handled
Investigate and resolve vendor payback requests. Outcomes will include claim denial with proper explanation and backup provided or payback approval.
Work cross-functionally with the greater organization to facilitate changes needed to successfully implement cost savings initiatives and/or resolve issues
Develop and maintain standardized reporting for the organization
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred
Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Strong organizational, administrative, written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive working knowledge of the MS Office suite, especially Outlook and Excel
Self-directed associate who can drive results as well as take balanced risks and make decisions
Must possess qualities of integrity, discretion and strong ethics
Ability to be successful in a changing environment and lead through the ambiguity of change
Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
Knowledge of transportation or supply chain procedures
Experience with OS&D processes and procedures or procurement/vendor returns
