Agee Clymer Mitchell & Portman is a dynamic and client-focused law firm dedicated to advocating for individuals injured on the job or due to negligence. Our litigation team is growing, and we’re seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Legal Assistant to join our Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury practice group.

Job Summary:

As a Legal Assistant supporting litigation matters, you will work closely with attorneys and law clerks to ensure efficient case progression. You will be responsible for managing scheduling, filing court documents, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all procedural requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and maintain litigation calendars, including hearings, depositions, deadlines, and meetings

Prepare and file legal documents in state and administrative courts (both electronically and in-person when required)

Track and manage court and internal deadlines, including follow-up to ensure timely filings and responses

Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and experts as needed

Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files

Support attorneys and clerks with trial preparation and case management

Assist with discovery requests, document production, and correspondence

Perform general administrative duties such as drafting letters, managing case files, and data entry

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably with a focus on litigation or workers’ compensation/personal injury

Strong knowledge of court procedures, rules, and electronic filing systems

Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software (e.g., Prevail or similar)

Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Ohio Workers’ Compensation procedures

Experience assisting with both pre-trial and trial preparation

Bilingual (Spanish or another language) a plus
