Description We are looking for a dependable and service-oriented Bank Teller/Clerk to support branch operations in San Diego, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, handling financial transactions accurately, and maintaining a high standard of service in a fast-paced banking environment. The person in this role will assist with everyday account activity, provide clear guidance to clients, and help ensure smooth and compliant branch service.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome clients and process routine banking activity such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and general account-related requests with accuracy and care.
• Respond to customer questions and work through account concerns or transaction issues in a detail-oriented and timely manner.
• Explain relevant banking products, services, and current offerings to help customers identify useful solutions for their needs.
• Record transaction details accurately, protect confidential financial information, and use branch systems to complete documentation and reporting.
• Count, balance, and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each shift, researching and resolving any differences promptly.
• Prepare currency and coin for secure storage or transfer in accordance with established branch procedures.
• Follow all internal controls, security standards, and banking regulations when handling cash and client account information.
• Maintain an orderly workstation and present a customer-ready presence throughout the day.
• Build positive customer relationships that encourage trust, satisfaction, and continued use of branch services. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or a related area is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in banking, teller services, or a similar customer-facing cash-handling role.
• Practical experience processing cash deposits, withdrawals, reconciliations, or wire-related transactions is preferred.
• Ability to complete and pass required background and credit screening for employment in a banking environment.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to client interactions.
• Solid math skills and comfort using standard computer applications and banking-related systems.
• Careful attention to detail and a consistent ability to manage transactions accurately under daily deadlines.
• Demonstrated accountability and confidence in recommending appropriate banking services when needed.
