Description We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join a busy HR team in New York on a Contract assignment. This fully onsite role will support day-to-day human resources operations with a focus on recruitment coordination, reporting, and high-volume administrative processing. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a service-minded approach, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process a large volume of human resources transactions accurately and within established timelines.
• Coordinate recruitment activities by supporting candidate movement, search-related documentation, and communication with internal hiring stakeholders.
• Produce, update, and maintain HR reports, with regular use of data tracking and spreadsheet analysis.
• Work closely with search committee members and other departments to provide timely updates and ensure smooth hiring workflows.
• Review applicable state hiring guidelines and supporting clarifications to help maintain compliance throughout recruitment activities.
• Assist with summer-session hiring by entering and managing manual employment data and related records.
• Support compensation-related administrative tasks, including manual rate review and additional salary factor processing.
• Provide guidance and process training to team members or stakeholders when needed.
• Deliver attentive customer service while helping maintain a collaborative and responsive HR environment. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in human resources support or HR administration.
• Prior exposure to recruitment coordination or talent acquisition processes is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills.
• Experience using HRIS platforms such as Paycor; familiarity with payroll systems like ADP is a plus.
• Ability to manage onboarding activities, pre-employment screening coordination, and employee-related documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Experience in higher education, academic recruitment, or student recruitment is preferred.
• Ability to work fully onsite and handle time-sensitive tasks in a high-volume environment. TalentMatch®
