Job Title: Die Setter

Job Description

The Die Setter is responsible for safely and efficiently setting up, changing, and maintaining molds in a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production runs meet quality standards, cycle-time targets, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with high-precision tooling and automated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain injection molds to ensure efficient production.

  • Change molds as needed to meet production requirements.

  • Ensure production runs meet quality standards and cycle-time targets.

  • Work with high-precision tooling and automated equipment.

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Experience with machine operating and setup

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Proficiency in die setting and mold injection

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with injection mold dies

  • Ability to operate a crane for die changes

  • Entry-level maintenance experience or strong mechanical aptitude

  • Willingness to undertake training and development

Work Environment

The work environment at this Tier 1 supplier is clean but fast-paced, supplying directly to a major automotive manufacturer. The role involves working with oil, grease, heights, and some heavy lifting. Employees work the first shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with typical hours extending to 4 or 5 PM, including two Saturdays a month. The environment is dynamic, offering direct insight into the automotive production process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.60 - $19.60/hr.
