Job Description
We are seeking candidates to work as a Material Handler in a plastic pipe extrusion company. The role involves removing pipes from extrusion machines, stacking them onto racks, and preparing them for transportation. Successful candidates will perform visual checks of pipes and load defective ones onto scrap pallets. There is potential for promotion to an Extrusion Operator position, offering increased compensation.
Responsibilities
Remove pipe from extrusion machine and stack onto racks.
Band up full racks of pipe for forklift transportation to scales.
Perform visual checks and load defective pipes onto scrap pallets.
Opportunity to become certified on forklift.
Potential promotion to Extrusion Operator based on performance.
Essential Skills
General labor experience.
Material handling expertise.
Forklift experience or willingness to get certified.
Understanding of the extrusion process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Material Handler 1: Entry-level, no experience required.
Material Handler 2: 2 to 5 years experience in manufacturing or distribution.
Material Handler 3: Experience in extrusion or injection mold environments.

Work Environment
Join a large company with several divisions, manufacturing plastic piping. Work shifts are 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am in a 2,2,3 pattern, providing substantial time off. The environment is dusty and not climate controlled, offering a dynamic and challenging workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.60/hr.
