Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain plant equipment such as corrugators, cranes, pumps, and transmissions.

• Perform installations and alignments on shafts and drive train components.

• Remove and refit bearings as necessary.

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Perform Stick or MIG welding tasks.

• Interpret and work from blueprints.

• Operate fork trucks, hoists, and lifts as needed.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of mechanical experience.

• Experience with heavy industrial maintenance.

• Proficiency in Stick or TIG welding.

• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding principles.

• Ability to interpret blueprints.

• High school diploma required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Industrial or manufacturing background preferred.

• 2-year degree or military experience is beneficial.

• Any trades experience or community leadership roles (e.g., firefighter, police) are a plus.

• Willingness to train and learn for career advancement in maintenance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valparaiso, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
