Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Oakland, California. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general accounting functions. This onsite role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a well-established company.

This position is 100% onsite in Oakland California.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, perform three-way matching, and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate accounts payable operations.

• Manage weekly check runs, credit card transactions, and employee expense reimbursements while maintaining proper documentation.

• Generate and distribute customer invoices, apply payments, and reconcile accounts receivable activity to maintain accurate records.

• Prepare aging reports and assist in collections efforts, ensuring timely resolution of customer account issues.

• Support payroll processing by validating timesheets, maintaining payroll documentation, and coordinating with HR and payroll providers.

• Assist with month-end close processes, including general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.

• Prepare W-9s, 1099s, and other necessary documentation to comply with regulatory requirements.

• Maintain organized accounting files and support audit processes and special accounting projects as needed.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Requirements • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Familiarity with payroll support processes and general ledger accounting.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is strongly preferred, along with intermediate Excel skills.

• Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively in an onsite, team-oriented environment.

• Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
