Job Title: RME Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician II
Job Description
This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing, maintaining, and improving material handling equipment and pneumatic systems within a fast-paced distribution environment. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and conveyor systems, while using data analysis and control systems knowledge to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations. You will also help develop junior technicians by sharing best practices and promoting a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent, reliable operation.
Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyor and automation systems.
Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment (MHE), identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to guide installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Apply knowledge of automation, control systems, and data analysis to monitor equipment performance and optimize system reliability.
Demonstrate and uphold safety standards in all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with established procedures and guidelines.
Use Microsoft Office and other computer applications to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and analyze maintenance data.
Mentor junior technicians by providing guidance, training, and technical support to build their skills and knowledge.
Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support operational needs as required.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical and controls equipment.
At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
At least 2 years of experience demonstrating and following safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).
At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a maintenance technician in a distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environment.
Experience in conveyor maintenance, automation, and control systems.
Familiarity with data analysis to monitor equipment performance and identify trends.
Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
Experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
You will work in a large, automated distribution facility with material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and pneumatic components. The role requires frequent standing and walking throughout the building and the ability to move up to 49 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Shifts may last up to 12 hours and can include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the needs of a high-volume operations environment. You will use computers and Microsoft Office applications regularly for documentation and reporting, and you will work around automated packaging and distribution technologies in a safety-focused setting. Fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes are provided to support a safe and compliant dress code on the floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cathedral City, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
