Job Title: Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role supports the shipping and receiving dock by handling inbound and outbound materials, tracking inventory, and performing daily cycle counts in a warehouse environment. You will operate multiple types of forklifts and material handling equipment, use a warehouse management system to maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure materials are stored and delivered to production lines efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Receive packages from incoming trucks and verify shipments against documentation.

  • Support the shipping and receiving dock by loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.

  • Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventory counts as required by the business.

  • Use sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move, store, and retrieve materials.

  • Complete put-aways and deliver materials to production lines as needed using pallet jacks and forklifts.

  • Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience operating stand-up reach forklifts.

  • Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts.

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail for all work being completed, especially inventory counts.

  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting.

  • Experience with inventory control, including cycle counting and physical counts.

  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to use RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in order picking, material handling, and staging materials for production lines.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WHS) or similar inventory software.

  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively with warehouse and production teams.

Work Environment

This role is based in the warehouse area of a manufacturing facility. The environment is temperature-controlled and designed to be manageable on the body, with a significant portion of the day spent operating forklifts and material handling equipment. You will work around shipping docks, racking, and production support areas, using equipment such as sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and a warehouse management system. The initial schedule follows a first-shift pattern from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with four 12-hour shifts per week and one rotating day off. After approximately 8 to 12 weeks, the schedule transitions to a standard first shift from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
