Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

The General Laborer will support fireproofing crews at Denver International Airport by maintaining clean and organized work areas, handling and preparing materials, and assisting with daily setup and cleanup. This role involves general construction labor tasks in a secure airport environment while closely following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain designated work areas, including removing debris, sweeping, and organizing materials to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

  • Assist fireproofers by moving, staging, and preparing fireproofing materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Load and unload supplies, tools, and equipment as needed throughout the shift.

  • Set up work areas by covering surfaces and protecting adjacent areas from overspray before fireproofing activities begin.

  • Break down work areas at the end of tasks, ensuring all materials, coverings, and tools are properly removed, stored, or disposed of.

  • Support fireproofers during application by handing tools, mixing materials, and performing other assigned tasks.

  • Follow all safety procedures at all times and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Work cooperatively as part of a small crew, communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.

  • Comply with all airport security and safety requirements while working in secure areas.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of previous commercial construction or general labor experience.

  • Experience performing general labor tasks such as cleaning, material handling, and basic construction support.

  • Ability and willingness to work in an airport environment and comply with all security and safety requirements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Denver International Airport (DEN) badge.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and consistent attendance.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team on a small crew.

  • Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required PPE at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with construction environments and fireproofing work is beneficial.

  • Experience working in or around airports is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety practices; OSHA 10 certification is a plus.

  • Experience operating or working around equipment such as scissor lifts is helpful.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The crew meets at a warehouse in Henderson at 5:45 a.m. and carpools to Denver International Airport, with paid time starting at 6:30 a.m. You will work as part of a four-person crew, typically in two-person teams, in an indoor airport setting supporting fireproofing operations. The environment is construction-oriented, requiring consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety and security protocols. Work involves standing, walking, lifting, and handling materials and equipment throughout the shift in active work areas within the airport.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.03 - $25.03/hr.
