Description

Description We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Evansville, Indiana. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth and efficient patient registration processes while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound and outbound calls to assist patients with scheduling, insurance inquiries, and registration needs.

• Verify patient insurance coverage, including copays, deductibles, and billing details, to ensure accurate documentation.

• Perform receptionist duties, such as greeting patients, answering questions, and directing them to the appropriate departments.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the computer system, adhering to established protocols and procedures.

• Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and ensure adherence to operational guidelines.

• Assist patients in understanding their medical coverage and financial responsibilities, providing guidance as needed.

• Execute clerical tasks such as typing, labeling, and maintaining paper and electronic files.

• Support financial operations through ad hoc tasks and documentation as required.

• Follow established protocols for clinical trial operations and ensure compliance with labeling and documentation standards.

• Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive experience for every patient. Requirements

• Need to be available to work three 12 hours shifts during the week from 6am-6:30p and four 12 hour shifts the following week with weekend and holiday rotations.

• Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or call center environment.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse individuals.

• Familiarity with insurance verification processes, including understanding copays and deductibles.

• Proficiency in computer systems and typing for accurate data entry and record maintenance.

• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of medical procedures, billing, and scheduling practices.

• Attention to detail and adherence to established protocols and procedures.

• Experience with receptionist or clerical duties in a detail-oriented setting.
