Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
Our Client is seeking a dedicated General Production Worker who will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and assisting with various production tasks within the plant. This role involves walking up and down multiple flights of stairs and handling various forms of feed and processed soybeans. The ideal candidate must not be afraid of heights and should be capable of rotating between cleaning, shoveling, and machine operation duties.
Responsibilities
Clean various floors of the plant, including walking up and down 4-5 flights of steps throughout the shift.
Shovel various forms of feed and processed soybeans that have fallen out of machines to be discarded.
Load trucks and rail cars with feed.
Rotate between cleaning the facility, shoveling, production roles, and machine operation.
Essential Skills
1+ year of production experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Must be able to handle physical tasks, including walking up and down stairs and shoveling.

Work Environment
The work environment can be dusty due to powdered products and may have strong smells in certain areas. The facility can get very hot or cold depending on the season and is somewhat dark. Initial onboarding hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM for the first two days, followed by training shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Post-training, employees will work on a rotating swing shift schedule. Casual attire is required, including jeans and long sleeves, along with steel-toed boots, eye protection, ear protection, and gloves.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
