Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Helper to assist with various tasks in our shop, including hammering duct work, insulating curves and ducts, bending metal, and following blueprints to fabricate ducts. The role involves assisting welders and machinists, tacking sheet-metal together, and performing other shop duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an insulation room and willing to take on dirty tasks. Additionally, you may be required to run deliveries for the shop in a box truck.
Responsibilities
Hammer duct work and insulate curves and ducts
Bend metal and follow blueprints to fabricate ducts
Assist welders and machinists with various tasks
Tack sheet-metal together
Perform general shop duties as needed
Maintain cleanliness of the shop by sweeping and organizing
Run deliveries for the shop in a box truck
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with sheet metal
Ability to bend and hammer metal
Experience with duct installation and metalworking
Capability to interpret blueprints
Familiarity with HVAC systems and fabrication
Basic welding skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a sheet metal shop assembling ductwork
HVAC experience or relevant schooling is a plus
Customer service skills
Valid driver's license and comfortable driving a small truck

Work Environment
You will be working in a shop environment, collaborating with welders and other employees to prepare products for field installation. The shop can be cold in the winter, hot in the summer, loud, and dirty. Candidates should provide their own steel-toe boots and basic hand tools if available. The shift is from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
