Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
You will work in a steel distribution center where you will be responsible for shipping and cutting metal coils for customers. You will learn various warehouse operations, including cutting, operating overhead cranes, skid building, packaging, and machine operating/helper tasks. You will operate an overhead crane, sit down industrial forklift, and use saws and cutting mechanisms for coils. Additionally, you will be involved in every aspect of receiving and shipping steel products. Reading work orders, performing housekeeping duties, and maintaining flexibility for all assigned duties are crucial. You will start the day with production goals in mind, focusing on processing, cutting, packaging, quality control, and bundling pieces before shipping.
Responsibilities
Operate an overhead crane and sit down industrial forklift.
Use saws and cutting mechanisms for metal coils.
Learn and perform various warehouse operations, including cutting, packaging, skid building, and machine operating/helper tasks.
Read and interpret work orders.
Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Maintain flexibility for all assigned duties.
Set and achieve production goals for processing, cutting, packaging, quality control, and bundling pieces before shipping.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to use tape measures and perform measurements.
Experience in material handling, picking, and production in a warehouse setting.
Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
Familiarity with RF scanners.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
Keen attention to detail for quality control of various sizes of metal products.
Experience in building skids.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.07 - $26.07/hr.
