Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated leader to join our Shared Services Vendor Enablement Operations team. This role will be responsible for managing a newly established team of offshore analysts in Bengaluru, India who support the Merchant organization in critical activities, including vendor relationship management, onboarding, and article setup pre-activities.
As a strategic business partner, you will collaborate closely with Merchandising teams and Buyers to ensure timely, accurate vendor onboarding and enable overall vendor success. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence and delivering measurable business outcomes.
From a delivery and governance perspective, this role will:
Lead reporting governance, including SLA and KPI management
Manage escalations and ensure effective resolution
Identify and implement process improvements
Drive post-stabilization optimization initiatives
Develop and execute a strong end-to-end transformation roadmap
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and a continuous improvement mindset. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on operational leadership.
Experience:
8 years of professional experience in merchandising, retail operations, or supply chain
Proven experience in vendor management, including onboarding, documentation, and compliance processes
Solid understanding of article setup/product master data management in retail systems
Operational experience around SLA management, deadlines, merchant interactions and escalation management
Offshore / Onshore Team management
Proficient in MS Excel and other tools used for vendor/retail management
Key understanding of retail operations, including handling product articles, inventory management, store operations and vendor coordination
Experience in process transitions or retail systems is an added advantage along with system upgrades
Excellent communication skills & a strong team player mindset
Hands-on experience in tools like SAP and other retail/vendor management systems
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support cross-functional initiatives
Knowledge or exposure on Master data management will be an added advantage
Ability to keep track of multiple items/files and their timelines
Vendor Portal Management experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
End-to-end management of vendor onboarding, documentation, and compliance verification
Collaborate with internal merchandising organization and external partners / vendors to drive operational efficiency
Manage an offshore team (No direct reports) to deliver on vendor and article onboarding function accountable for SLA, Incidents, accuracy and Turnaround time metrics.
Understand the nuances of article and vendor setup in retail systems (SAP), ensuring accurate product master data (pricing, pack sizes, UoM, tax, attributes, hierarchies, etc.)
Handle vendor queries, escalations, and follow-ups to ensure timely resolution
Maintain and update vendor/retail databases and provide regular status reports with SLA reporting
Ensure new articles are correctly configured for sales channels (stores, online, distribution centers)
Provide insights from vendor and product data to support merchandising, stock planning, and decision-making
Participate in process improvements, system updates, and retail operations projects
Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and quality standards in vendor and retail processes
Support inventory alignment, stock planning, and smooth product launches
Skills Required:
Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills
Detail-oriented and process-disciplined
Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI and data handling
Familiarity with retail systems (SAP - preferred, JDA, Oracle)
Good understanding of retail business processes
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support cross-functional initiatives
Excellent communication skills and demonstrate patience keeping balance between with merchant and vendor needs
Bachelors business degree in supply chain, finance, logistics.
Lean Six Sigma will be a big plus
Between 10 and 12 years of experience.
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $131,500.00
