Miller Trainee - Lincoln, NE
Position Overview: Join our team as a Miller Trainee, where you'll gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the art and science of flour milling. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to learn the milling process and grow within our organization. You will work closely with experienced millers to ensure the production of high-quality flour while maintaining safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn and assist in operating milling equipment under the guidance of experienced millers.
Monitor wheat tempering moistures for proper level to maintain desired moisture level, color and ash in the finished flour products.
Report production from scale tallies and weigh off each shift on the shift millers report
Participate in daily shift change meetings and assemble/disseminate communication to the appropriate departments as needed
Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
Perform quality control tests on raw materials and finished products.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the production area, adhering to health and safety standards.
Document production data and report any deviations to supervisors.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a relevant field is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical processes.
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment, including lifting up to 50lbs and standing for extended periods in non-climate controlled conditions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive attitude and attention to detail.
Training and Development:
On-the-job training provided by experienced millers and supervisors.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing and production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations ranging from 30 degrees in the winter and 100 degrees in the summer.
Safety equipment and training provided to ensure a secure work environment.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
