Job Description

This role supports a state-of-the-art, fully automated volumetric modular construction facility that builds top-quality, affordable housing. You will work in an indoor, permanent-location construction environment alongside advanced automation and robotics, helping to assemble modular components and maintain a stable, efficient production flow. The position is hands-on, fast-paced, and ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and contributing to innovative construction methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of general construction labor tasks in an indoor, off-site volumetric modular factory environment.

  • Work within an assigned department, as determined during the interview process, to support specific stages of the modular construction process.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively to assemble, fasten, and adjust construction components.

  • Accurately read and interpret tape measurements down to 1/16 of an inch to ensure precise cuts, placements, and alignments.

  • Support a stable production pace by keeping work areas organized, materials stocked, and tasks completed within expected timeframes.

  • Help maintain high up-time of factory machinery by following operating instructions, reporting issues promptly, and supporting basic maintenance tasks as directed.

  • Follow established processes, instructions, and strategies to improve team performance and overall production quality.

  • Identify issues or inefficiencies on the production line and contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of modular units.

  • Consistently promote and perform according to the company’s core values, including safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and regularly lifting 50+ pounds.

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.

  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a construction, production, or similar environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent production pace and support high up-time of factory machinery.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to self-start without constant supervision.

  • Strong desire to innovate, create, and push beyond traditional construction methods.

  • Willingness to follow and implement processes, instructions, and strategies to improve team performance.

  • Commitment to promoting and performing according to the company’s values.

  • Comfort with physically demanding work, including regular lifting of 50+ pounds and frequent bending, kneeling, and standing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor, construction, production, or warehouse work.

  • Experience in carpentry or working with building materials in a construction or manufacturing setting.

  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, automated, or robotics-assisted production environment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a structured, process-driven operation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
