Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator Laborer
Travel Required – Western U.S. & Texas
We’re hiring Apprentice‑Level Heavy Equipment Operatrors/Laborers who are motivated, hands‑on, and open to traveling for work. This role supports geotechnical and foundation construction projects across the Rocky Mountain region, Kansas, North Dakota, Texas, and occasionally as far as Louisiana.

Job Details
Schedule: 5–6 days per week
Hours: 10 hours per day (50 hours/week average)
Job Duration: Typically 1–2 months per project
Travel: Extensive travel required across multiple states
Per Diem: $40–$50 per day worked
Housing: Provided by the company
Mileage: Paid at the current government rate
What You’ll Do
Assist with operating, inspecting, and maintaining construction equipment per manufacturer specifications
Support equipment movement through rigging, hoisting, spotting, and signaling
Perform soil leveling and ground preparation for safe transport of equipment and materials
Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and supporting repairs as needed
Follow job instructions provided by supervisors and foremen
Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety regulations
Support operation of mixers, air compressors, generators, pumps, and other power equipment
Assist experienced operators with specialized track‑mounted drilling equipment used in geotechnical construction
Labor Responsibilities
This position includes hands‑on physical labor , such as:
Digging and backfilling trenches and excavations
Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment
Organizing materials and supplies
Cleaning and preparing job sites to remove debris and hazards
Safely operating hand and power tools, including jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, concrete mixers, and pneumatic tools
Qualifications
Apprentice‑level to intermediate experience in construction or heavy civil work
Ability to operate skid steers, all‑terrain forklifts, hydraulic excavators, and front‑end loaders
Experience with rigging and hoisting or willingness to learn under supervision
Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Western U.S. and Texas
Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions
Ability to work safely in confined, uneven, or cluttered spaces
Capable of climbing, maintaining balance, and working around heavy equipment
OSHA, First Aid, and/or safety training preferred
Experience in geotechnical work, ground improvement, grouting, or earth retention is a plus, but not required

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of COMMERCE CITY, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
