What you'll do...

Assistant Designer, Fashion – Women’s Elevated Brands Onsite: 45 W 25th St, New York, NY About the Role Are you passionate about fashion and design with a point of view for premium, elevated product? As an Assistant Designer for Women’s Elevated Brands at Walmart, you will support the seasonal design process from concept through delivery—helping bring sophisticated, trend-right collections to life through strong storytelling, attention to detail, and excellent cross-functional partnership. You’ll work closely with Design leadership and the broader team to help execute elevated private brand assortments that balance style, quality, and commerciality for our customer. You’ll make an impact by:

  • Researching and identifying trend directions relevant to women’s elevated fashion; analyzing competitive and aspirational brands, runway, street style, and cultural insights.

  • Creating digital concept/mood boards, inspiration pages, and seasonal storytelling materials that reflect an elevated brand point of view.

  • Supporting the design team in creating and developing seasonal women’s apparel collections for elevated private brands (e.g., key items, color, print/graphics, and fabric direction).

  • Assisting with sketching and Illustrator flats, draping support, fittings, and fit/photo review preparation.

  • Helping source and organize fabrications, trims, and details aligned to elevated positioning (handfeel, finish, construction, and quality).

  • Preparing and maintaining development decks, line sheets, and presentation materials for internal reviews and vendor communication.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Product Development) to support execution that meets design intent, quality standards, cost targets, and calendar milestones.

  • Supporting sample tracking and organization across a fast-moving, multi-season calendar.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:

  • Have a strong eye for detail and a refined aesthetic with an interest in premium materials, construction, and elevated styling.

  • Bring 1–3 years of fashion design experience (women’s apparel preferred).

  • Are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) and PowerPoint; strong Illustrator sketching/flat skills.

  • Are highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced private brand environment.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally—both written and verbal—and collaborate well across teams.

  • (Plus) Have experience with Miro, AI tools, or 3D design tools.

The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $156,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
