Job Title: Shipping Clerk - $18/hr - 1st Shift 8am-4pm Mon-Fri - START ASAP

Job Description

This role supports a global automotive aftermarket operation by assembling and disassembling components using basic hand tools, accurately fulfilling customer orders, and maintaining clear documentation. The shipping clerk ensures that products are correctly picked, packed, and prepared for shipment while helping to manage inventory and support efficient warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble components using basic hand tools according to established procedures.

• Pick and pack orders accurately to meet customer and internal requirements.

• Perform visual quality control reviews to ensure products meet quality standards before shipment.

• Prepare, label, and package products securely for shipping.

• Document completed work, including order details, shipment information, and any quality findings.

• Carry out inventory upkeep functions such as counting, organizing, and restocking materials.

• Handle materials safely and efficiently as part of shipping and receiving activities.

• Use computers and data entry systems to process orders, update records, and support order entry.

• Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and material handling.

• Proficiency in shipping and receiving tasks within a warehouse environment.

• Ability to perform accurate data entry and order entry using computers.

• Skill in using basic hand tools to assemble and disassemble components.

• Attention to detail for visual quality control reviews and accurate documentation.

• Ability to maintain inventory, including organizing, counting, and tracking stock.

• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience picking and handling small parts in a warehouse or shipping environment.

• Previous work in an automotive, manufacturing, or technical warehouse setting.

• Interest in growing into higher level technician roles working on high-end vehicles.

Work Environment

This position is based in a brand-new, extremely clean warehouse facility designed to support efficient and comfortable daily operations. The site includes modern amenities such as an on-site gym and locker room for employee use. You will work around warehouse equipment and technology while handling inventory, performing picking and packing tasks, and preparing shipments in a well-organized, professional environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
