Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Job Description

The Safety Coordinator will serve as a high-visibility, field-based safety presence, spending approximately 90% of time in the field interacting directly with trades. This hands-on role is focused on preventing incidents through presence, intervention, and communication. The Safety Coordinator is expected to actively identify unsafe behaviors, stop work when necessary, and coach crews in real time to ensure compliance with site safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong on-site presence to promote a culture of safety.

  • Engage directly with multiple trades to reinforce safety expectations.

  • Identify, intervene, and correct unsafe acts or conditions immediately.

  • Conduct daily safety walks and field observations.

  • Support the Safety Coordinator with incident prevention and documentation.

  • Assist with toolbox talks, safety briefings, and field coaching.

  • Ensure OSHA standards and site-specific safety rules are followed.

  • Support both regular and augmented shifts as project demands increase.

  • Be approachable, visible, and firm when enforcing safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience.

  • Strong field-based safety experience on large, active construction sites.

  • Comfortable working around large manpower counts and multiple trades.

  • Ability to confidently stop work and interrupt unsafe behavior.

  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.

  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts (day/night coverage).

  • Familiarity with high-density job sites (500+ workers).

Work Environment

The project is located in Aurora, CO, and will last approximately 60 days, through the end of June. The schedule includes a day shift from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and a night shift from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with augmented shifts as needed to support peak site activity. Overtime is required and expected.

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
