Job Description
A large service and repair shop specializing in compressors and valves for refineries is seeking a Master Mechanic with expertise in reciprocating compressors. This role involves overhauling and repairing large reciprocating compressors for natural gas and may also include work on other rotating equipment parts. Responsibilities include disassembling, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and reassembling reciprocating compressors, reading blueprints, and using OD and ID micrometers, along with other tooling. Documentation of work is also required.
Responsibilities
Overhaul and repair large reciprocating compressors for natural gas.
Work on other parts for rotating equipment.
Disassemble, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble reciprocating compressors.
Read blueprints and use OD and ID micrometers, as well as other tooling.
Document work processes and outcomes.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 10 years of mechanic experience.
Expertise in reciprocating compressors.
Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
Experience reading blueprints.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a rotating equipment shop.
Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Experience working with companies such as Burckhardt Compression, Pignone Compressor, Cook Compressor, CPI (now Chart Industries).

Work Environment
Work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art shop located in Houston, TX. The facility is large, air-conditioned, and well-organized, with a mix of manual machinists, CNC machinists, mechanics, material handlers, and quality control staff. The environment is team-oriented, discouraging lone wolf attitudes. Safety is prioritized with steel toes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses required. Standard hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for 10-hour shifts and Saturday work when busy.

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
Bonus is up to 6%, but depends on profits. Will get $100 gas cards randomly. Pay reviews every January to increase pay rate. Year end bonus of up to 6% based on company performance Willing to do sign on bonus if it makes sense Career mapping
