We are looking for a Strategy Intern. This position willbe based at one of our sites in New York, NY, Sacramento, CA, Lexington, NC, orPittsburgh, PA.

A little bit about us

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does Strategy play into the big picture?

The Strategy Team provides our senior leaders with research, analysis, and recommendations related to long-term business planning and emerging market trends, and critical initiatives. The team collaborates with all the business units in our region and with colleagues throughout the global Siemens Mobility business. As a Strategy Intern, you will assist the Director of Strategy with various tasks, including:

Market Research & Data Analysis:

  • Supportthe collection and analysis of market data, competitor studies, andindustry trends.

  • Assistin strategic benchmarking and due diligence efforts to identify keyinsights.

  • Helpanalyze strategic action fields to inform business decisions.

Presentation Development:

  • Contributeto the creation of impactful PowerPoint presentations for seniorleadership, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Supportthe visualization of complex data and strategic narratives.

Strategic Planning Support:

  • Assistin the coordination and preparation of strategic planning documents andreports.

  • Supportthe team in monitoring the execution of business strategies and relatedplans.

AI Strategy Support:

  • Contribute to thedevelopment of a regional AI strategy and assist with the implementation ofAI-related initiatives within the region.

Sustainability Coordination:

  • Participate inplanning and implementation related to corporate sustainability initiativessuch as decarbonization and landfill waste avoidance

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Exposure tohigh-level corporate strategy and decision-making processes.

  • Practicalexperience in market research, data analysis, and strategic planning.

  • Enhancedpresentation and communication skills.

  • Mentorship fromexperienced strategy professionals.

  • A deeperunderstanding of the mobility industry and Siemens' strategic priorities.

Critical Capabilities:

  • Astrong interest in transit and passenger rail, corporate strategy, AI,and/or sustainability.

  • Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complexinformation clearly.

  • Detail-orientedwith a keen eye for accuracy.

  • Abilityto work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Who Should Apply?

  • Education/ Majors: Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS froman accredited college or university and majoring in Business, Economics,Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Data Science or a related field withstrong technical or analytical aptitude

  • Availability:40 hours per week from June to August

  • WorkAuthorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in theUnited States without the need for current or future employer-sponsoredwork authorization

  • Priorinternship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferredcumulative GPA of at least 3.0

  • Demonstratedleadership potential

  • Stronganalytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
