Job Title: Warehouse Associate (1st and 2nd Shift)

Job Description

This non-exempt Warehouse Associate role involves performing a variety of warehouse operations, including receiving, counting, sorting, and recording large, heavy-weight stock, as well as picking and packing orders and assisting with dock processing. You will work on a structured shift schedule and receive overtime pay at time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse operations on the receiving dock, including unloading, checking, and organizing incoming materials.

  • Count, sort, and record large, heavy-weight stock accurately to maintain inventory integrity.

  • Pick customer orders efficiently and accurately according to pick lists or system instructions.

  • Pack orders securely and appropriately to ensure safe and accurate shipment.

  • Assist with dock processing, including staging, labeling, and preparing shipments for outbound transport.

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move, load, and unload products as needed.

  • Perform general labor tasks within the warehouse, such as organizing stock, cleaning work areas, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

  • Handle packaging materials and prepare products for storage or shipment in accordance with company standards.

  • Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines to protect yourself, your team, and company property.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 2 years of previous warehouse or similar experience.

  • Experience operating a forklift and willingness to use forklifts regularly.

  • Proficiency in picking and packing orders in a warehouse environment.

  • Ability to perform inventory-related tasks such as counting, sorting, and recording stock.

  • Capability to handle large and heavy-weight stock safely and efficiently.

  • Experience with general labor and material handling tasks in a warehouse setting.

  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory records.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.

  • Reliability in adhering to assigned shift schedules and attendance requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.31/hr.
